Taking care of your facial skin: how to properly carry out home treatments. Proper skin care

A woman’s face is perhaps the most unprotected part of the body; it is susceptible to almost all external influences. In addition, internal problems of the body are immediately reflected in her condition and become visible to others. That is why facial skin needs careful daily care, which will help restore it to a healthy and radiant appearance, give it elasticity, and preserve youth. Like any cosmetic procedures, home care should not only be systematic, but also correct.

Determining your skin type

To select the right care and cosmetic products, you need to know your skin type in order to direct your care in the right direction, solving a specific problem. It wouldn’t hurt to consult a cosmetologist who will not only determine but also tell you how to properly care for a certain type of facial skin. However, this can be done independently, knowing some features:

  1. Dry skin is caused by narrowed pores and tightness; it is prone to premature aging and the appearance of wrinkles, so it needs intensive moisturizing.
  2. Enlarged pores and oily shine accompany oily skin that is prone to inflammation, acne and comedones. Proper cleansing will help avoid many problems with such skin.
  3. Normal skin is characterized by the absence of these shortcomings, but it also requires daily care. The wrong selection of cosmetics can provoke various skin diseases.
  4. Sensitive skin reacts to any external or internal influence with redness and peeling. Special products for sensitive skin do not contain aggressive substances, fragrances or other components that can lead to such manifestations.
  5. Combination skin type is considered the most difficult in terms of choosing skin care products. Here it is important to correctly differentiate problem areas and select cosmetics in accordance with the identified problems. It should be remembered that products labeled “for combination skin” are just a marketing ploy.

In addition to the above, we can highlight such a problem as the manifestation of a capillary network, which reveals weak blood vessels. Cuperosis is not just a cosmetic defect, but also a serious disease; if you discover it, you should consult a doctor. Loose or aging skin is not only an age-related problem; it is quite common in women after 30 years of age with improper or irregular care. Timely measures will restore elasticity to the skin.

Principles of proper care

The rules for daily home care are based on cleansing, moisturizing, toning and nourishing the skin. Only such an integrated approach will achieve the desired effect and prolong the youth of the skin, preserving it and protecting it from negative influences - both external and internal.

Cleansing.

The first and, perhaps, main stage in facial skin care is daily cleansing. During the day, dust settles on the skin, harmful substances from the environment and sebum accumulate. Here we will add foundation, powder, and other decorative products. This cocktail not only clogs pores, leading to inflammation, the formation of blackheads, comedones, acne and other troubles, but is also perfectly absorbed by the skin, causing its intoxication. That is why facial skin cleansing should be correct and regular.

Washing.

Before washing, makeup and dirt accumulated during the day are removed with special skin cleansing products. This could be lotion, milk or micellar water. For lovers of natural home remedies, there is a recipe that many actors use when removing makeup. Heat any vegetable oil slightly, apply a thin layer, and after a minute remove it from the face. The oil will not only cleanse the skin, but also moisturize it.

For direct washing, it is better to use purified water, since the skin tends to absorb substances contained in the liquid. Ideally, use rain or melt water, but filtered tap water will also work. At the same time, cosmetologists advise giving up soap, since the alkali it contains has a detrimental effect on the water balance of the skin. It is better to give preference to gel, milk or foam for washing.

Peeling.

Once or twice a week, peeling is carried out with a specially selected scrub. This procedure is designed to exfoliate dead cells, smooth out the surface, and deeply cleanse the pores. Scrubs are applied to damp skin and rubbed in with light movements, without much pressure. It is worth remembering, however, that in case of severe rosacea, severe inflammation or irritation of the skin, the peeling procedure is contraindicated.

It’s easy enough to make homemade face scrubs. To do this, use fine sea salt, sugar or ground coffee, mixed with thick cream or sour cream in equal proportions.

Honey also has a cleansing effect. To do this, apply it to the face with light massage movements, and after thickening, remove it with a damp cloth or cotton pad soaked in a warm herbal decoction. This procedure removes dead skin cells and softens the skin. In addition, this peeling is indicated for inflammation, unlike store-bought scrubs, because honey is a natural antiseptic.

Cleansing masks.

Cleansing face masks are a must in home care, which should also be done once or twice a week. Before applying the mask, experts advise taking a steam bath using essential oils or herbal decoction. This procedure will open the pores and remove toxins. However, some skin problems, among which rosacea ranks first, are a contraindication to such a procedure.

A mask made from cosmetic clay is considered the most effective in cleansing. When choosing clay, skin type is taken into account. Thus, white clay is chosen by those with mixed skin types, blue and green by oily skin types, and red clay is ideal for dry skin.

After applying the cleansing mask, the skin is soothed with toner. It will remove any remaining product, close pores, and give your face an even color and a fresh look.

Hydration.

After cleansing, the skin needs hydration, which can be achieved with special creams selected according to skin type and age. For young skin, a light gel with a moisturizing effect is preferable. For more mature skin, it is better to choose not just moisturizing, but comprehensive care, where nutrition and giving the skin elasticity will play an important role. Moisturizer is usually applied in the morning.

Moisturizing masks are much more effective. Use them 1-2 times a week. It should be borne in mind that store-bought masks, in addition to useful components, contain undesirable substances such as preservatives, flavors, and dyes, which are also absorbed by the skin. You can avoid their unfavorable effects by using homemade masks for facial skin care.

During the day, toners or, more recently, thermal water, are used to further hydrate very dry skin.

However, it should be remembered that hydration is not only about using moisturizers, but also about drinking enough liquid. You may notice that dehydrated skin becomes thinner and wrinkled, and begins to peel. In this case, establishing a drinking regime will help.

Toning.

Tonics and lotions help take care of your facial skin. How to use these products correctly can be found in the instructions on the packaging of each of them. It is better to choose such products on a natural basis, without alcohol. Some women prefer products from the children's series. There are advantages to this: baby care products contain only natural ingredients, they are hypoallergenic and non-addictive. You can make your own lotion from a decoction of herbs. This product is stored in the refrigerator and slightly warmed before use.

Skin toning procedures include home cryotherapy, which helps restore freshness and elasticity. To do this, just wipe your face in the morning with an ice cube made from a decoction of herbs: chamomile, nettle, sage, thyme and others. This procedure perfectly tones the skin, eliminates swelling and signs of fatigue, and tightens pores. Sharp cooling promotes microcirculation and strengthens blood vessels, which is an excellent prevention of the appearance of capillary mesh. The skin becomes more elastic, and small wrinkles are smoothed out quickly.

Nutrition.

Any skin, especially mature skin, needs nutrition, which it receives, as a rule, from creams and nourishing masks. The nourishing cream is applied at night; before use, it is advisable to warm it slightly in your hands. After 10-15 minutes, excess cream is removed with a napkin, otherwise pores may become clogged, leading to the formation of comedones.

As in other cases, nourishing masks can be purchased in the store. However, most women prefer self-prepared masks. Thus, products such as egg yolk, honey, sour cream or cream, potatoes, cucumber, aloe pulp and others have excellent nutritional properties. The composition is selected depending on the skin type and the desired effect. The mask is applied for 10-15 minutes, washed off with running water or a decoction of herbs. After the mask, you can wipe your face with an ice cube.

Facial skin needs not only proper care, but also seasonal protection, because the sun, frost, wind, and temperature changes significantly affect its condition. So, before going outside during the day, even in winter, it is better to use a day cream with UV filters that will protect the skin from the influence of sunlight, which leads to the appearance of age spots. In summer, the protection index should be higher - at least 30, while in winter 15 is enough. If you cannot buy a day cream with high UV protection, you can additionally apply sunscreen before going outside.

At low temperatures, use a protective cream to prevent the harmful effects of frost. You should use moisturizers in winter at least an hour before going outside.

Any cream is applied along the massage lines with light tapping movements, avoiding strong pressure, which leads to stretching of the skin and the appearance of premature wrinkles. After a while, if the cream is not absorbed, remove the excess with a napkin, simply blotting your face.

Vitamins play a great role in nourishing the skin, improving its appearance and general condition. Vitamin complexes taken orally and food enriched with minerals will help restore her health and beauty. In addition, you can enrich any cosmetic products with “vitamins of beauty and youth” - A and E, adding a drop to a cream or mask before applying to the face. B vitamins and the most powerful antioxidant, vitamin C, are also important.

As you can see, maintaining the beauty and health of your facial skin requires a lot of effort and time, but the results will not be long in coming. A radiant appearance and admiring glances will be a worthy reward.

The most exposed and unprotected part of our body is the skin. It is she who daily faces the influence of various external factors, such as climatic conditions, dust, air pollution and anthropogenic load.

The term “skin care” has its own special meaning for each person. Therefore, to clearly understand skin care tips, it is very important to know its features and functions. This knowledge will help you take care of your body correctly.

Each layer of the skin performs important functions and interacts with the others. Human skin consists of epidermis, dermis and hypodermis. Let's move on to a detailed description to understand all the nuances of the structure of the skin.

  • Epidermis. Consists of five layers of cells. This layer of skin contains melanins - pigments of various colors that appear during tanning. In other words, they color living tissues of the human body under the influence of ultraviolet radiation.
  • Dermis. Consists of connective tissue. The dermis contains blood vessels, receptors, nerve endings, sebaceous and sweat glands, and hair follicles.
  • Hypodermis (subcutaneous fat layer). The main task of hypodermal cells is the accumulation of nutrients for the full functioning of the body of each of us.

Sweat glands remove excess fluid accumulation from the body. The sebaceous glands protect the surface of the skin by secreting oil. It is this that allows the skin to be softer and protected from cracking and drying out.

The most common skin problems arise due to blocks and congestion in the above processes.

Facial skin care

Skin health directly depends on the lifestyle we lead. You will always look great if you take care of your nutrition, become more active and learn to have a positive attitude towards all life's ups and downs. Frequent experiences and stress lead to increased skin aging.

One should also not forget about regular body skin care - this is a necessary measure when living in a metropolis.

The main causes of skin problems

  • Chlorinated water;
  • Electromagnetic radiation;
  • Exhaust gases;
  • Temperature changes;
  • Household chemicals;
  • Stress;
  • Ultraviolet;
  • Bad habits (smoking and alcohol);
  • Lack of vitamins;
  • Poor nutrition.

Excess sebaceous fat, dust, dead cells and regular use of foundation lead to various skin diseases, so it is necessary to take care of the complete and proper cleansing of the skin in a timely manner. Diet and a healthy lifestyle alone will not provide young and healthy skin if you don’t take care of it.

The changing climate brings many skin problems. At normal temperature and humidity, the condition of the skin is close to ideal, however, at the first temperature fluctuations we observe the opposite. During the hot season, the skin changes color, often dries out and, as a result, wrinkles appear. Frosty winds and low temperatures lead to roughening of the skin, which cannot be called a pleasant phenomenon for humans. Any weather troubles are the main cause of early aging.

Just imagine if already problematic skin receives improper care. Poorly selected cosmetics (cream, lotion, scrub, makeup remover) will sooner or later lead to serious problems that cannot be dealt with on your own.

In order not to look for a way out of a difficult situation later, it is better to do everything possible now to avoid unnecessary problems.

Skin types

  • Dry;
  • Fat;
  • Combined.

Skin care depends on its type and condition. Of course, the real lucky ones are those who have normal skin - firm, matte, smooth and elastic. The pores on such skin are practically invisible, which makes it even more attractive. However, everyone needs to take care of their skin health.

Women of any age need to get into the habit of removing makeup the first time there is no need for it, otherwise there is a huge risk of ruining their facial skin. Even the highest quality cosmetics negatively affect her health.

Skin care products: how to wash your face properly

What's the first skin care product you know? Many people mistakenly assume that this is something from their cosmetic bag. In reality, it is nothing more than ordinary water. Pure water maintains the beauty and health of the skin in the best possible way.

When washing, we cleanse the skin of excess fat, dust, dirt and a mass of microbes. In turn, cleansed pores of the face and body breathe better and absorb nutrients. With the right water temperature, blood circulation in the skin improves.

For washing it is better to use natural mineral or distilled water. You can also filter the water from your tap, removing harmful salts and various impurities that adversely affect your skin. River water is also suitable for this procedure (provided that it has undergone heat treatment).

If you wash your face with tap water, your skin will become rough, dry and irritated. In this case, you may also encounter the problem of severe peeling of the epidermis.

Soaps, lotions and decoctions for washing the skin

Is it necessary to use soap during morning and evening washes? Experts in the field of cosmetology assure that soap should be used no more than once a day (in the evening), and only for those with oily skin type. Other skin types can dry out and become inflamed even when washed with gentle cosmetic soap.

To fully cleanse your facial skin, you can use special emulsions, lotions and liquid creams. Herbal infusions and unrefined oils (olive, peach, flaxseed, etc.) are very popular in cleansing the skin.

Try to get rid of the habit of drying your face too thoroughly with a towel, because the skin stretches easily, and you risk getting wrinkles ahead of time.

Before going outside, you need to use an effective protective cream. In the summer it should be tonic and light, and in winter it should be richer.

Remember to protect yourself from the negative effects of ultraviolet rays while spending long periods outside or at the beach. Use special tanning products, wear sunglasses and hats, and try to be in the shade as often as possible.

Skin care, homemade face masks

The use of nourishing and restorative face masks is a must to maintain good skin condition.

Face masks can be made yourself or purchased from cosmetic departments. The folk recipe is so diverse that anyone can choose a suitable skin care product.

Rules for applying a mask to the skin

  1. Wash your hands with soap and wash your face thoroughly;
  2. Apply the prepared mixture to the skin with a special plastic cosmetic spatula;
  3. Keep your eyelid skin intact. There is no need to use a mask in this area;
  4. After applying the product, give yourself a short rest. Relax and do not make unnecessary movements. Try not to be distracted by other activities or talk;
  5. Remove the remnants of the mask using a moistened cotton pad;
  6. Remove the mask carefully. Remember not to stretch the skin.

Facial skin care at home

If your skin is too flabby and lifeless, you need to arm yourself with cosmetics that will help tone it. Normal skin condition is impossible without proper nutrition. Include dairy products, fresh vegetables and fruits, seafood and eggs in your diet. This menu will improve nutrition and blood circulation of the skin.

Homemade face masks should consist of egg yolks, natural juices, fruit pulp and yeast.

Advice: To get the maximum effect, it is better to contact a specialist. Regular massage courses in a beauty salon will help quickly restore problematic skin, making it smooth and attractive.

Cosmetics for face and body skin care

Nowadays, many cosmetics manufacturers offer their customers natural and environmentally friendly products for body skin care. So, you can purchase gels and scrubs, creams and lotions that are healthy for your skin.

Before you begin caring for your body skin with cosmetics, you must complete all morning procedures. In other words, your body must be prepared. Start with morning exercises, then take a contrast shower and cleanse your skin of dead cells with a scrub. These manipulations will improve blood flow and allow the skin to breathe.

Scrub

A high-quality scrub will help to completely cleanse the body of impurities and dead skin flakes. It should be applied to a damp body and smoothly rubbed in a circle. It is scrubs that can rejuvenate and brighten the skin, but they should be used in moderation. Those with dry skin should not scrub their skin more than once a week. To safely care for oily skin, peeling twice a day is acceptable.

Shower gel

Gels provide a good effect in cleansing the skin. They not only remove dirt, but also moisturize the areas to which the product is applied. Gels are especially popular among consumers due to the aromatherapy effect, which allows them to fully relax during water procedures. An individually selected aroma will help you calm down and improve your mood. Natural skin care gels have a more persistent scent, thereby ensuring proper freshness and comfort.

Cream

The final touch will be the use of cosmetic milk or skin cream. These products are applied to the body with massaging movements. They should be rubbed in gently and carefully. Wait until the cream is completely absorbed into the skin. Any manipulations during the procedure should give you pleasant sensations, so there is no need for haste and carelessness in this matter. A good body cream will make your skin smooth, velvety, toned and soft.

There is a wide range of cosmetics to combat obvious skin problems (cellulite, early aging, deep wrinkles, stretch marks, age spots). Creams and lotions with natural ingredients will help restore your skin to its former beauty and youth.

Home skin care: peelings and baths

Natural peelings and baths are one of the most affordable ways to care for the skin of the whole body. Baths can be taken with homemade fruit juices, herbal plants, green tea, essential oils, starch, bran and other beneficial additives.

To prepare an effective natural scrub, use honey, milk, sugar, oatmeal, sea salt, moderately hard fruits and vegetable oils. The main thing is that you are not allergic to any of the components of the product.

Rely on your imagination, experiment, and don't be afraid to try something new. Every girl, with a little patience, will find a suitable scrub recipe for herself, which will become an indispensable skin care product. Choose pleasant aromas, high-quality ingredients and the right proportions, and then your body will regain its former energy, beauty and youth. At the same time, your mood will always be at its best!

It's no secret that cosmetics make a woman brighter and more beautiful, but even the most professional makeup is unable to disguise skin imperfections. To keep it healthy, it needs to be given daily attention, because only appropriate care for the skin of the face and body can ensure a magnificent appearance.

Determining your skin type

To choose the right care, you need to determine the choice of facial care products. If you have oily skin, it does not need enhanced nutrition, and if it is dry, it should not be dried out with masks and tonics. Skin type is easy to determine.

In adolescence she is very beautiful, she has no signs of acne or enlarged pores. It is very thin and delicate. However, over time, such skin increasingly lacks hydration and nutrition. Without getting what it needs, dry skin quickly fades. It is often also sensitive and prone to irritation and peeling.

Oily skin is the complete opposite of dry skin. It is rough, dense, enlarged pores are visible. There is a big plus: it can produce a protective film itself, and therefore has better protection from the harmful effects of the environment. Unlike dry skin, oily skin ages much more slowly, but due to excess sebum secretion, acne and pimples often appear on it. At the same time they spoil the overall appearance. If you provide such skin with proper care, it will acquire a clean and smooth appearance.

Has no visible flaws. She is often confused with normal, which is not surprising. With combination skin, the T-zone (nose and forehead) is oilier than the rest of the face. The skin on the cheeks is normal or even prone to dryness.

Normal skin, given modern ecology and living conditions, is a real rarity among adults. Such skin is ideal: smooth, even, elastic, without flaws. In general, like a child's.

Choosing the right skin care

In order for the skin to receive the substances it needs, care products must be selected correctly. Standard products include (the alkali in the composition disrupts the natural pH of the skin), day and night cream, tonic, masks and scrubs, eye cream. Now about the features of caring for different skin types.

Proper care for dry skin

Fat milk is good to use for cleansing once a day, in the evening. In the morning, simply rinse your face with water. A soft alcohol-free lotion with moisturizing agents is suitable as a toner. To make your own tonic, you need:

1 tbsp. Pour a spoonful of green tea with hot mineral water, add linden, leave for 2 hours, strain and store in the refrigerator.

Creams must contain nutrients. The day cream should protect the skin well from exposure to ultraviolet radiation. A night cream is ideal: nourishing and restorative. necessary only with the appearance of the first wrinkles. Instead of a scrub, gommage is used once a week; it is gentle on the skin.

Proper care for oily skin

The basis of care in this case is cleansing. Ideal with bactericidal and anti-inflammatory effect. A toner for oily skin is also a must. It should contain alcohol and pore-tightening anti-inflammatory additives. You can even prepare it at home:

1 tbsp. Brew a spoon of calendula with 1 glass of hot mineral water, leave, strain, add lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of vodka, put in the refrigerator.

Only special creams for oily skin are suitable. Apply eye cream only when the first wrinkles appear. Every week you need to use a scrub, 2-3 times a day, as well as cleansing and anti-inflammatory masks.

Proper care for combination skin

Tonic should be used only for the T-zone, where oily shine is visible. You can prepare it at home:

1 tbsp. Pour a spoonful of green tea into a glass of hot mineral water and add lemon juice.

It is necessary to purchase creams for combination skin. Eye cream is used when the first wrinkles appear, usually after 25 years. Peeling 2 times a week is good.

Home facial skin care:universal rules

  • Don't go to bed without taking off your makeup.
  • Day cream must certainly contain UF filters.
  • Do not apply anti-wrinkle cream unless necessary.
  • Apply night nourishing cream to damp skin, day moisturizing cream to dry skin.
  • Make masks from natural vegetables, fruits and berries.
  • Sleep at least 8 hours.

We hope that our little tips will help you take care of your skin. Caring for her is the key to a beautiful face and good mood!

Every woman strives to maintain her charm, and each does it in her own way. But for some reason, not everyone is able to spend a few minutes on the 4 stages of daily facial care. You can constantly experiment with your hairstyle, you can spend money on expensive outfits and consultations with a makeup artist. But neither elegant clothes, nor skillful makeup and a new haircut will return a healthy look to your skin, a youthful oval of the face or smooth out small wrinkles, but they are the ones that treacherously reveal a woman’s age.

The first signs of skin aging (wrinkles around the eyes, around the mouth, on the neck) often go unnoticed by us. By the age of thirty, anxiety and reluctance to admit that time is taking its toll appears. “We have to do something!” - we tell ourselves, but for some reason we often put off taking care of our skin “for later” and only realize it when its color becomes dull, the wrinkles become deep, the weakened skin sags, does not follow the facial features so clearly, and needs lifting. And we run to the cosmetologist with the hope that, like a magician, in one moment he will restore our youth and make us beautiful. Yes, cosmetologists can do a lot, but this does not replace the need for daily home skin care. It consists of 4 stages:

Stage 1 - Cleansing

You need to cleanse your face both morning and evening. In the morning, this is the preparation of the face for applying makeup, in the evening - night cream. When cleansing, dead scales of the stratum corneum, stale sebum, and bacterial waste products are removed. In the evening, cleansing removes makeup residues and dirt that has fallen on the face during the day, cleansed skin will be ready for maximum acceptance of the night cream.

When washing any type of skin, it is not recommended to use soap - it degreases it too much, after it dryness and irritation occur, soap tightens the skin pores too much, not cleaning them well enough. In addition, soap is an alkali, it disrupts the normal acidity of the skin surface, destroys the lipid (fat) barrier of the skin, which prevents the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms on it.

The face should be cleansed using gels, mousses, and cosmetic milk. They almost do not disturb the normal acidity of the skin, penetrate deeply into the pores, and dissolve solid particles of cosmetics well.

Stage 2 - Toning

After cleaning your face, be sure to wipe it with tonic (lotion). Toning is an important aspect of daily facial care for any skin type; it should be done after each cleansing - twice a day: morning and evening. It is a misconception that only oily skin should be treated with toner. And that the higher the alcohol content, the better. Even if the surface of the face is very oily, preference should be given to non-alcoholic toners. Alcohol not only dries out normal and dry skin, but also increases the activity of the sebaceous glands of oily skin. Dry skin should also be treated with a toner after cleansing, the only difference being that the toner should be selected specifically for this skin type.

  • removes remnants of cleanser and decorative cosmetics from the skin surface;
  • moisturizes the skin, improves its tone;
  • has a mild anti-inflammatory effect;
  • normalizes the acidity of the skin surface;
  • cleanses and tightens skin pores;
  • prepares the skin for further care.

Stage 3 - Moisturizing and protection

Day cream is used in the morning or afternoon, both under makeup and without it, about half an hour before going outside. It should be applied not only to the face, but also to the neck.

The film that appears on the skin after applying the day cream performs a protective function; the skin underneath suffers less from environmental meteorological factors, dust and dirt. In addition, the day cream prevents the evaporation of water from the surface of the skin and helps maintain a sufficient level of moisture.

Day creams usually contain various active ingredients. Depending on their content and ratio, different day creams are used for different skin types and at different times of the year. In summer, you should use day creams containing sunscreen filters - substances that reflect or absorb ultraviolet radiation. They will protect the face from the damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation, which leads to “photoaging” of the skin.

Stage 4 - Nutrition

In the evening, after cleansing and toning, apply a “night” cream. Night creams belong to the “nourishing” category. They are selected according to skin type and condition.

Night cream is applied 1-2 hours before bedtime; If it is not completely absorbed, the residue should be blotted with a napkin. As with day cream, it is applied not only to the face, but also to the neck and décolleté.

Never apply nourishing face cream to the areas around your eyes. Night creams are too greasy, their composition and consistency are too “heavy” for this delicate area.

All movements, both when cleansing and toning the face, and when applying creams and masks, should be made only in the direction of the lines of least stretch of the skin: from the midline of the face to the ears. You should wipe your face only with blotting movements, without stretching the skin.

These basic stages of skin care can be supplemented with masks, mechanical (scrubs) and chemical peels, etc. But there is no need to use them daily.

Eyelid skin care

The skin around the eyes requires special attention every day - it is the thinnest and most sensitive, it has few sebaceous glands, and is highly extensible. Swelling easily forms on the eyelids, and wrinkles appear first. Applying and removing makeup tires and irritates the skin around the eyes. Therefore, cosmetics applied to this area should be of the highest quality.

Eye creams have a particularly light consistency and are well absorbed. They should be applied morning and evening after pre-cleaning the eyelids.

Do not use face creams on your eyelids. For the skin around the eyes, use only products specifically created for this area, tested by ophthalmological control.

Apply and remove makeup from the eyelids carefully, observing the directions of least stretching of the skin (under the eye, movements should be directed towards the nose, and above the eye - towards the temple).

Clean your eyelids only with special gels and lotions. Protect your eyelid skin from the bright sun, choose products with ultraviolet filters.

Lip care

The skin of the lips is very thin and is always exposed to wind, sun, frost and dry air. It has no sebaceous glands, so it needs daily moisturizing and nutrition. Constant contraction of the facial muscles of the mouth contributes to the formation of wrinkles around the lips.

At night, and also when you do not apply decorative cosmetics, use special lip care products.

Make sure that your lipstick contains moisturizing and softening ingredients, vitamins and ultraviolet filters. As a rule, these requirements are met by lipsticks from reputable companies, and they are quite expensive. But remember that lipstick not only stays on your lips throughout the day - most of it is eaten by you, so you should not use cheap lipsticks.

Neck skin care

The skin of the neck is very delicate and thin, it is prone to dryness, sagging, and wrinkles, so it needs additional hydration and nutrition already in youth.

When gradually caring for your face in the morning and evening, be sure to remember about your neck. You can care for it using the same products you use to treat your face: cleanse with cosmetic milk, wipe with toner and apply cream appropriate to the time of day. Some cosmetics manufacturers produce special neck care products. They differ in that they do not leave marks on clothes.

If you learn how to properly care for your skin, it won't take much time. Give yourself 10 minutes in the morning and evening to cleanse and tone, in the afternoon to moisturize, and in the evening to nourish the skin.

Your skin will respond positively to these treatments, but don't expect instant results the next day or a week later. Lasting changes in your appearance will not occur earlier than in a month, since each new cell needs to go through a full life cycle, which is 28 days. Don't postpone facials to weekends when you are freer. Only daily attention to yourself will reward you with smooth, elastic skin that will retain its youth for many years.

How to properly care for your face is an important and necessary topic for every woman. The face is our calling card. No matter how we dress, no matter what hairstyle we style, what attracts us first of all is his face. If it is not well-groomed, looks gray and tired, then no amount of tricks can hide it.

You should always take care of your facial skin, at any age and constantly. This means every day, and no excuses or concessions.

Occasional care “on major holidays” will lead to premature aging of the skin and then you will have to make every effort to at least somehow maintain it in a decent form.

Simple daily procedures do not require much effort, only the desire and habit of taking care of yourself. Every girl, woman, lady of respectable age needs to know the main rules and basic stages of caring for the skin of her face at home.

The daily facial care program is the same for all ages and skin types. You individually select only the cosmetic products themselves.

What is proper skin care?

When caring for your face, you need to follow only 2 basic rules: regularity of care and the correct technique for applying care products to the skin.

What does regular basic care mean: it’s like brushing your teeth every morning and evening. Also, every day you set aside 3-4 minutes to take care of your face after sleep and before bed. This is the first and main step to which you must accustom yourself.

Second step: learn how to properly apply facial care products so that the skin does not stretch and wrinkle prematurely.

Rules for applying cosmetics

How to take care of your face at home: minimum program

The daily facial skin care program includes several mandatory steps:

Stage 1: Cleansing the skin morning and evening

In the morning, we remove from the surface the impurities that formed overnight: dead cells of the stratum corneum, sebum and bacterial waste products. If this is not done, then all this will be absorbed again along with the cream that you apply in the morning. During the day, a lot of dust, dirt, and cosmetic residues accumulate on the skin, so in the evening the skin even more needs thorough cleansing.

How to properly cleanse your skin:

  • Before any cosmetic procedure, you need to wash your hands well and make it a rule: you should only touch your skin with clean hands.
  • If you wear eye makeup, be sure to remove it with an eye makeup remover. Use a cotton pad soaked in this product: sweep along the eyelashes and along the upper and lower eyelids.
  • After this, apply a little skin cleanser to the skin of your face for about 1 minute using circular movements of your fingertips along the massage lines. All dirt will dissolve, and you thoroughly wash it off with water at room temperature.
  • Dry your skin with a towel or napkin; do not rub or stretch it under any circumstances.
  • Choose the right cleansing products: gels, mousses, cosmetic milk and various homemade washes. They have a gentle effect, penetrate well into pores and dissolve solid particles of cosmetics.
  • Do not use soap under any circumstances; it dries and irritates the skin, tightening the pores and preventing them from being completely cleansed of impurities. You need to know that soap, being an alkali, disrupts the pH of the skin, destroying the natural barriers that prevent the proliferation of pathogenic microbes on it.
Stage 2: Skin toning

This is the next mandatory and very important stage of daily facial care. A toner or lotion will moisturize the skin, increase its tone, equalize pH, relieve inflammation, additionally cleanse and tighten skin pores and prepare the skin for the next stage of care.

How to do it right:

  • Rub the skin along the massage lines with a disc soaked in tonic.
  • If you are using a toner spray, spray it on the surface of the skin, lightly massage it in with your fingertips, and then remove it with a cotton pad.
Stage 3: Moisturizing and protecting the skin

These procedures are important to maintain skin elasticity and firmness. Without moisture, the skin becomes dull and wrinkles. To moisturize, you use the cream that suits your skin type.

In the morning you use day cream and in the evening you use night cream. Please note that in the morning you apply cream to your face at least 30 minutes before going outside, and in the cold season - an hour. Night cream should be applied an hour or two before bedtime so that it has time to be well absorbed and have its beneficial effect. If you apply the cream immediately before bed, the cream can clog the pores, and the skin will look swollen and unrested in the morning.

For very young people with good skin, cream is not necessary; you can skip this stage and limit yourself to simple toning, and let the skin work on its own recovery.

Creams may contain various active substances that prevent the effects of adverse environmental factors: UV rays, dust and dirt. Water evaporates less from the surface of the skin and remains moisturized longer.

How to properly moisturize your skin:

  • Place a small amount of cream on the back of your hand and rub it lightly until it reaches body temperature. Remove the cream from the jars with a clean spatula.
  • Using your fingertips, distribute the cream in small portions along the massage lines of your face. Only on the bone around the orbit of the eye, on the moving eyelid and along the eyelashes should not be applied to avoid swelling.
  • Do not apply the cream in large quantities, and after 20-30 minutes, be sure to blot the skin with a paper napkin to remove excess.

In addition to the basic facial skin care program, there are other important procedures that are also mandatory, these are: masks for home care. But they are used not daily, but periodically.

  • We usually wash with plain tap water; it is chlorinated, so contact with the skin should be minimal. It is best to use settled, filtered water for washing; melted and structured water has a good effect on the skin.
  • Use water at room temperature for washing, as cold water narrows pores, which leads to a lack of cell nutrition, while hot water, on the contrary, expands capillaries and pores and increases sebum secretion.
  • You can practically do without water, using only a cleanser, but you should still slightly moisten a cotton pad with water or toner.
  • Young skin (especially combination and oily skin) needs more thorough cleansing in the morning, as it has increased sebum production. For dry and normal skin, as well as for sensitive and mature skin, most often, thorough cleansing is not required, just washing, toning and moisturizing is sufficient.

Choose the right cosmetic products taking into account the characteristics of your skin and do not forget that sometimes they are more effective and more gentle on the skin.
